Okay, that's another one of these desperate pun-attempts. So let's focus on the essential: Cloed P. Baumgartner/Yppig launched a new - and very appropriate for the season - knit initiative called "Knitting in groups"
From now on, knitters of all sexes and backgrounds are invited to unite in Muskat Café
(on Yppenmarkt/Brunnenmarkt) every Tuesday starting at 6 pm.
If that's not gonna give a lot of wooly X-mas presents, then we don't know...

Bernhard Willhelm deejay...
Vienna obviously pays Bernhard Willhelm back all the love he made his students dedicate to the city last year with the motto of their first fashion project under his guidance.
Not only was he invited to design this year's Viennale bag, he will also perform as a DJ on October 30 starting at 10 pm in the Viennale's festival tent.

Congratulations! Belgian designer Lena Lumelsky
wins this year's edition of the Mango Fashion Award "El Botón".
Fashion books of the other kind... "Dresscode Man"
(Braumüller) is probably a good example of the "instant reading for deeper understanding of fashion".
Trend and style and shopping expert Irmi Schüch-Schamburek recently brought out "Dresscode Man", which will be followed (and completed) by "Dresscode Woman" in early December.
Right on time for Christmas...

The New York Museum of Art and Design currently hosts an exhibition that presents an overview of contemporary jewellery design from Latin America.
is an interesting and important example of how our modes of perception should go beyond the usual stopovers on the international fashion and design map.

The 11th edition of "Japan Fashion Week"
in Tokyo kicks off today and lasts until October 24.
A great opportunity to familiarise yourself with the goings-on in this interesting fashion scene. As every year around, several Austrian fashion labels will also present their summer 2011 collections in the showrooms organised by their agencies.
It's always a bit tricky to try and translate puns into another language - usually the result is, well, awkward. Anyhow, this is not a literature homepage but an online magazine dedicated to fashion, so ...

A very interesting fashion exhibition was curated by Akiko Fukai from the Kyoto Fashion Institute for London's Barbican Gallery: the show "Future Beauty"
looks back on three decades of Japanese fashion and the impact of great talents in style the likes of Rei Kawakubo, Issey Miyake or Yohji Yamamoto had, and still have, on the world of fashion.
A must-see for all you Londonders out there...

I Love USA
No worries - it's not that AUSTRIANFASHION.NET would turn into USA-fashion.net or anything of the kind - we would only like to make you aware of the short (fashion?) film that Hedi Slimane produced for TheCorner.com.
The film is entitled "I Love USA", and it's a nice stopover on your next internet shopping excursion. Warmly recommended.
