More than fashion
Image2012|02|02 - 05|20

A fashion exhibition documenting the Viennese avant-garde lifestyle of the 60s is being organized by the Vienna Museum, featuring pieces from designer names such as Missoni, Armani, Issey Myiake or the Viennese based Salon Lisa Robinson Luna, Étoile and Schella Kann. The comprehensive collection is that of Katarina Noever, a 1960s top model and co-founder of the legendary Section N store, so the clothes are bound to be downright fabulous and reflective of the glitz and glamour of a true fashion superstar. The exhibit will also feature photos and other documents, offering any visitor a chance to experience closer the culture and real life of the times. Those Swinging Sixties never go out of fashion!

AAAAR – Artists Activists A(u)ction Against Racism

AAAAR is a group of artists, activists, students, workers and immigrants, who are dedicated to fight the racist and discriminatory laws and regulations which give the foreign citizens, mostly the third-country ones, coming to Austria, a very hard time. AAAAR is particularly focusing on the students coming in, and hopes to ease their transitional experience by raising money to battle the effects of the restricting laws. Organizing an auction (in the frame of this year`s "Open House" at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna) to gain funding for these students, tens of artists are taking part, making for one diverse and desirable collection to be auctioned off. In a world where cosmopolism is at the heart of our society, this is only one small step that should show us the right way for true cultural acceptance.

Another Exhibit
Image While Paris lives and breathes men’s fashion, you might do well to distract yourself, and we suggest you visit the Stefan Sagmeister exhibit. The Austrian artist is a wonderfully talented graphic designer, working in New York for numerous well-known brands as well as music names, producing a diverse collection of works. His exhibition, entitled Another exhibit about promotion and sales material, is focusing mainly on his commercial work but achieves nevertheless to present the visitor with an overall picture of his inspired work. Paris this time a year seems like the best place to visit!
