MQ Vienna Fashion Week 2014
2014|08|09 - 14|09

Nothing makes us spring up and get the new season started like some fashion action, so we’ll be kicking-off September in true style with MQ Vienna Fashion Week. Soon, countless writers, bloggers, fashion addicts and everyone in between will flock to the MQ to take in the freshest works of over 70 national and international designers. Michael Michalsky will do the opening-show honours, and will be followed by our own Austrian powerhouses such as  Elfenkleid, Tiberius, Susanne Bisovsky, pitour, Michel Mayer or Kayiko, all taking turns with labels from Belgium or Romania. To top it all off, the myriad of side events, such as the Bloggers’ Pop-Up, showrooms or afterparties, guarantee there will be no second spent idle. Watch this space for more Fashion Week action. Let the spectacle begin Vienna!

AFA-Austrian Fashion Awards 2014

There’s always something fresh to look forward to each MQ Vienna Fashion Week, and this year is no different! The newly launched Austrian Fashion Association (AFA) has taken over the Austrian Fashion Awards 2014 giving it a truly creative facelift in the form of a fashion auction.
The Fashion Award of the City of Vienna and the Fashion Award of the Federal Chancellery will be given out during a ceremony in the form of a completely novel concept, offering the designer’s creations up for grabs to the audience. The performance fashion show/auction, staged by artist Wally Salner, gives the unique opportunity of snatching one-off pieces straight off the catwalk, all the while supporting the young designers directly. Pieces by GON, Rani Bageria, Jana Wieland, Inga Nemirovskaia, Ken Kumagai, Stephanie Rizaj, Takahiro Ueno, as well as the AFA supported Ajla Ayidan, D E M E L R A V E and Roshi Porkar are all going under the auction hammer, and if there ever was a better way to support local talent, we haven’t heard of it. Highest bidder wins!
