Ist das Mode oder kann das weg!?
A celebratory 40th anniversary retrospective into the aesthetic phenomenon that is Vogue Germany.
It has been a turbulent and magnificent ride for the Vogue fashion publication through the ages. It has seen political turmoil and instability, but also the wonderful power of young creativity and talent, and it was all documented in the pages of the magazine. An exhibition at Villa Stuck in Munich under the title ‘Ist das Mode oder kann das weg!? (“Is this fashion or can it be ditched!?”) 40 Years of Vogue Germany’ presents all the rule-bending, forward-looking, and revolutionary ideas that made their way to the world thanks to Vogue. Through photoshoots that graced the covers or the famous photo stories, the exhibition offers a peek into the archives of the institution. What’s more, though a constructed atelier, visitors can also take a look into the process of creating a magazine of this calibre. You can also expect designs by Karl Lagerfeld or Viktor & Rolf on display, so make sure you go visit!
