Another Austria 2013
When the International Fashion Showcase takes place for the second time, in conjunction with London Fashion Week, there will be an exciting new addition to the programme. For the first time, Austria will be among the thirty participating nations by presenting ANOTHER AUSTRIA. The exhibition, held under the joint aegis of the British Council and the British Fashion Council, will take place at the premises of the Austrian Cultural Forum London from 1 February to 28 February.
On the initiative of AUSTRIANFASHION.NET, the Austrian Cultural Forum London (ACF) endorsed the organization of Austria’s official contribution to the International Fashion Showcase 2013. This led to a six month long collaboration, which culminates in the realization of the exhibition ANOTHER AUSTRIA.
ANOTHER AUSTRIA is curated by Claudia Rosa Lukas. A fashion designer and founding editor of AUSTRIANFASHION.NET, Lukas is a leading expert on the Austrian fashion scene. The exhibition will be accompanied by a programme of events held at the Austrian Cultural Forum.

Cutting-edge design from unconventional perspectives
ANOTHER AUSTRIA engages broadly with the theme of fashion, which is approached from different thematic angles and includes:
An insight into the Austrian fashion scene. This strand introduces a number of Vienna and London based designers and their different approaches to design. It showcases a range of selected artistic positions in photography, drawing and animation. A snapshot of contemporary trends is offered by works that have been specifically created for the exhibition.
An innovative design-object study. This presents a special assortment of prototypes and small editions from various collections from the years 2000-2012.
The Emerging Talent Award 2013. The third strand of the exhibition is dedicated to six emerging fashion labels, which were selected for the Award. During 15-‐18 February, the highlights of their collections will be presented to a jury from the British Fashion Council, British Council, as well as to an international audience.
A programme of accompanying events. The subject of fashion and design will be the central theme of the accompanying events at the ACF. Lectures, discussions and performances will delve into the historical, contemporary, sociological and artistic aspects of fashion.
